The Agricultural Institute of Marin is seeking a dedicated part-time Assistant Farmers Market Manager for our year-round farmers market in Oakland, every Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The role supports the Market Manager with setup, breakdown, and excellent customer service at the information booth.

This entry-level position offers a potential career pathway in farmers markets operations, agricultural education, or local food systems strategies within AIM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and load/unload equipment from a truck.
• Availability for early mornings and extended shifts Saturdays (6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).
• Interest in food systems, agriculture, or farmers markets.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Market Manager with all aspects of market operations, including securing the site and overseeing setup/breakdown.
• Set up, maintain, and break down market equipment (ATM, signage, information booth, restrooms, etc.).
• Staff the information booth and process customer transactions with excellent service.
• Operate AIM’s EBT program, including processing transactions and distributing tokens.
• Foster positive relationships with vendors, customers, staff, and community partners.
