Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in campus/staff/patient safety and security concerns.
• Maintain order within the facility and enforce hospital rules and regulations.
• Suggest improvements to supervisor to enhance campus safety and security.
• Ensure all doors are locked and areas secured as required.
• Check vehicles/persons that may not belong on campus and report appropriately.
• Conduct security patrols throughout the campus.
• Review CCTV/video footage as required; operate surveillance systems.
• Use radio/phone communications promptly with police, fire, or emergency services.
• Use ECS radio system and telephone communications proficiently.
• Notify Security Director of deficiencies and suggest changes.
• Notify Director about lights needing replacement.
• Direct and monitor visitors entering/exiting via Visitor App.
• Monitor CCTV inside the security booth.
• Assist Nursing Supervisor with patient disturbances.
• Assist police officers when called to campus.
• Oversee Parole Officer removal of patients for violations.
• Obtain belongings/keys from Admissions’ safe for AMA/discharge patients.
• Initiate searches of patients/units/vehicles as needed.
• Conduct fire drills and report deficiencies to Security Director.
• Provide shift summaries by email to defined mailing list.
