Job summary

Trinity Health MI seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform routine and specialized cardiac ultrasound exams, including stress testing and TEE, with emphasis on data acquisition and analysis for physician interpretation.

The role requires CAAHEP‑accredited training and RDCS/RCS certification, BCLS/CPR readiness, and preferred dual RDCS/RVT registration with 1+ year ultrasound experience. Weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year program accredited by CAAHEP.
• RDCS or RCS certification; ability to attain within 1 year of hire.
• BCLS certification; CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred: RDCS and RVT registrations; ultrasound experience; bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized echocardiograms using M-mode, 2D, 3D, Color/Spectral Doppler.
• Performs graded exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiographic procedures.
• Coordinates and assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms and optimizes images.
• Operates, maintains and optimizes ultrasound equipment.
• Transports ultrasound equipment and performs bedside exams as needed.
• Reviews patient charts and performs patient assessments.
• Collects and analyzes data to prepare worksheets for medical staff review.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and imaging concepts.
• Maintains on‑call availability for off‑hour/emergent calls (24/7).
