Job summary

Baltimore Museum of Art is seeking a part-time Web Developer & Digital Applications Specialist to maintain the museum’s public website and online collections. This 20-25 hour per week role is the primary owner of the website application, WordPress functionality, and related data integrations.

The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of WordPress experience, strong skills in analytics and tracking tools, and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity; familiarity with accessibility

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of WordPress development and support.
• Experience maintaining content-rich production websites.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Knowledge of analytics tools and tag management.
• Experience with website integrations and data sources.
• Experience with CMS, DAM, CRMs, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience in museums/nonprofits is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the museum’s WordPress site and plugins.
• Monitor health; troubleshoot accessibility and performance issues.
• Test, deploy, and validate updates; maintain config docs.
• Support Online Collections and data integrations.
• Coordinate with IT, Collections, and external vendors.
• Collaborate on infra and app-layer initiatives.
• Apply WordPress, plugin, and theme updates promptly.
• Monitor caching and website performance.
