Job summary

Phigenics is seeking a Water Management Equipment Technician (WMET) to join our Des Moines, IA region team. This role offers a flexible schedule averaging 55-60 hours per month, reporting to the Director of Field Services, and providing service and account management support for clients.

WMETs perform water testing, maintain equipment, analyze microbiological and water chemistry data, respond to client requests, and may perform minor maintenance on monitoring gear.

Qualifications

• Background in science, engineering, or mathematics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service existing clients by taking water tests and maintaining equipment.
• Assist in maintaining Comprehensive Water Management Programs by analyzing microbiological and water chemistry data.
• Respond quickly, professionally, and accurately to client requests.
• Perform minor maintenance on water monitoring equipment and collect building water samples.
• Mentor or train peers after training to share knowledge.

Position Summary

Phigenics is seeking a candidate with a flexible schedule interested in working 55-60 hours per month. Water Management Equipment Technicians (WMETs) will report to the Director of Field Services and provide service and account management support for clients in a region. WMETs service existing clients by taking water tests, maintaining equipment, and assisting in maintaining Comprehensive Water Management Programs by analyzing microbiological and water chemistry data and responding quickly, professionally, and accurately to client requests. WMETs may be asked to perform minor maintenance on water monitoring equipment, take on-site readings via testing instruments (i.e., chlorine, temperature, and pH readings), and collect building water samples to be sent to a lab for cultures. Once fully trained, the employee may be expected to mentor or train peers to ensure consistent knowledge sharing and team development. Candidates must live near Des Moines, IA.

Work Environment / Travel

Position requires traveling to client sites in a region, servicing equipment, and collecting water samples. Travel radius is approximately 300 miles from Des Moines, IA. There is overnight travel expected on an average of 1 time per month. Mileage reimbursement is available. The wearing of PPE is sometimes required. The position often requires a great deal of walking around client sites, may include climbing stairs or ladders, and may require lifting up to 25 pounds. May provide occasional support in other regions.
