Job summary

Helix Water District is seeking a part-time Public Affairs Education Assistant to deliver interactive classroom presentations and guide elementary students through hands-on tours of our Treatment Plant, with a schedule aligned to the academic year. The role requires strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.

A California Class C driver's license is required. The position is based at the Administration Office in La Mesa, CA, with occasional Saturdays and 8–16 hours per

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of teaching, training, leading tours or giving presentations.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• Experience working with elementary school students and science education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted classroom presentations to students.
• Engage and guide tours of the Treatment Plant for groups of students.
• Coordinate with teachers and school administrators to schedule tours.
• Track program participation and assist with administrative tasks such as invoicing.
