Job summary

Helix Water District is seeking a part-time Public Affairs Education Assistant to bring water education programs to life. You will deliver classroom presentations and guide elementary students through hands-on tours of our Treatment Plant, with a schedule aligned to the academic year and summers/holidays off.

Your role emphasizes clear communication with teachers and the public, organizing tours, presenting water cycle concepts, and maintaining schedules and tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience teaching, training, leading tours, or giving presentations.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• Experience working with elementary students and science education preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive classroom presentations to elementary students.
• Guide tours of the treatment plant and explain water concepts.
• Coordinate with teachers and administrators to schedule tours.
• Maintain schedule and administrative tasks.
