The Temporary Customer Service Field Representative (Part-Time) performs fieldwork related to the inspection and maintenance of the District’s water meters, meter boxes, and related equipment and performs other related work as assigned. This position is part of the Water Distribution System Section of Operations and is classified as a temporary, entry-level position. The position receives direct supervision from the Distribution System Manager and does not supervise staff. This classification is characterized by entry-level field maintenance responsibilities performed under close supervision, with an emphasis on inspecting and maintaining water meters, meter boxes, and related appurtenances.

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 10 hours per day, and to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to bend, stoop, reach, climb, and kneel as needed to perform essential job functions. Work may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, chemicals, confined spaces and require sufficient vision, hearing, dexterity to read meters and documents, use mobile devices or computers, operate vehicles, and interact safely and effectively with the public and coworkers.
