Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA is seeking a warehouse selector to join our distribution team. You will accurately select products for Wegmans stores, using attention to detail and teamwork to ensure on-time deliveries.

This overnight, part-time role offers four 10-hour shifts per week with a starting pay of $20.50–$22.50 per hour plus a frozen-position bonus of $2.00/hour. Candidates should be able to lift 20–25 lbs regularly and work in a cold-temperature environment.

• Experience operating pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect.

Responsibilities

• Build pallets safely to minimize product damage and maximize trailer space.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect as required.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and product specs.
• Communicate daily quality issues to operations management.
• Maintain cold-chain integrity for temperature-controlled loads.
• Lift 20-25 lbs on average; occasional max >50 lbs.

Job Description:

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule:

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You’ll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect
