The position involves standing for long periods, working with a shift lead, and using warehouse systems and equipment while adhering to Expeditors' safety standards and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• 6 months or more direct experience in a similar position.
• Ability to read, count, do simple math and write legibly.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch.
• Must follow directions with emphasis on safety and deadlines.
• Able to shift priorities easily and handle stress.
• Able to use hands and feet for repetitive movements.
• Forklift certification may be required within 6 months.
• Familiarity with warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as the first duty and ensure vendor safety practices are followed.
• Work with the shift lead to ensure a smooth operation for the day and week.
• Maintain the warehouse appearance as expected by Expeditors culture.
• Check documentation and complete processes accurately and efficiently.
• Unload and load cargo safely and efficiently.
• Arrange for cargo transfer using radio, telephone and computer.
• Update event codes when necessary.
• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories for accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
