Provides concise, updated communication to family members in the surgery waiting room. Offers directions and information about specific services. Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

Licensure/Certification

• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.

Experience

• Two years’ experience in customer service, healthcare office, or related communication center preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in Email, Internet, Microsoft Office, and adaptable to new programs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a positive attitude and emotional support capabilities.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Check-in family members of patients and provide updates.
• Serve as a resource and guide for waiting room visitors.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues.
• Report maintenance or housekeeping issues.
• Interact professionally with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
• Perform hourly rounding and team activities.
• Answer phones, use paging systems, and communicate accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote safety, courtesy, quality, and efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, professional environment and support unit functions.
• Participate in staff meetings and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
