Job Description:

Success Academy Charter Schools is introducing Varsity Girls Volleyball for the Fall 2023 season at its Harlem and Manhattan high schools. This part-time, seasonal, stipended position begins in mid/late August and ends in early November. Practices generally occur 2-3 times per week on weekdays; times vary between 3:30 and 9:00 pm. Depending on facility access teams may also train occasionally on weekends. The teams compete in the Charter School League with matches typically taking place once per week weekdays or on a Saturday.

The stipend for the Fall season is $4,000.00.

We welcome candidates for a Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach for the Fall 2023 season.

Responsibilities:

1. Attend all practices and games.
2. Create and execute all practice and game plans.
3. Daily oversight of practice/game travel logistics.
4. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
5. Manage coaching administrative duties which include but are not limited to; attendance, roster management, game-day operations, score reporting, distribution and collection of uniforms, team-specific events.
6. Display leadership, professional behavior, and communication in dealings with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administrators.
7. Provide feedback to student-athletes on a regular basis regarding skill development and opportunities for growth.
8. Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to Success Academy’s mission, rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of two years of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school playing and college playing experience is preferred.
2. Strong understanding of volleyball skills and strategies.
3. Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
4. Growth mindset and passion for learning.
5. Ability to form strong professional relationships with students-athletes, families, and colleagues.
6. Positive, enthusiastic, collaborative approach.
7. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

Compensation: $4,000.00 - exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
