Job summary

Burke Industries seeks a compassionate Part-Time Vocational Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in Nacogdoches, TX. You will help develop vocational skills, daily living tasks, and community involvement while promoting independence.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, facilitating meal monitoring, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment. A valid Texas driver’s license and mandatory trainings (SAMA, CPR, First Aid, and more) are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Ability to complete required training including SAMA, CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and assigned training modules.

About the Role

Burke is looking for a dependable, caring, and motivated Part-Time Vocational Specialist to join our Burke Industries team in Nacogdoches.

In this role, you'll work directly with individuals with disabilities, helping them develop vocational and daily living skills, build confidence, and participate in their community. You'll provide hands-on support, encourage independence, and help maintain a safe and positive environment.

We're looking for someone who is patient, works well with others, and enjoys helping individuals reach their goals.

What You'll Do

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver's license with a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
• Ability to complete required training, including Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, Van Driving, and assigned training modules.

Preferred

• At least one (1) year of experience working in a janitorial setting and with individuals with disabilities.
• Basic computer experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to see, hear, communicate verbally, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, bend or kneel, drive a vehicle, and use hands and fingers for daily tasks. Must also be physically able to complete all required training.
