Job summary

The City of Fairfax is seeking a part-time Video Production Assistant to support the Cable Television Division within the Communications and Marketing Office. You will set up, operate, and break down production equipment for live meetings, events, and recorded content.

Responsibilities include operating cameras in multiple configurations, running cables, placing microphones, and using a character generator and video switcher. 1–2 years in video production required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented with college-level coursework in video production.
One to two years of experience in video production.

Responsibilities

Assist with programming for the Government Access Channel and social media.
Set up, operate, and break down video production equipment for live meeting coverage, community events, and recorded content.
Operate cameras in remote-controlled, studio, and ENG configurations.
Run and organize video and audio cables.
Place microphones and set appropriate audio levels.
Create, update, and recall graphics using a character generator.
Utilize a video switcher during live broadcasts.
Follow cues from the Director during live telecasts.
Capture and edit footage for a variety of edited productions.
