Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital Katy is seeking a Part-time Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team. This role requires a minimum of two years of veterinary hospital experience and involves post-operative client communication, with independence within a collaborative team.

The candidate will provide nursing care, place IV catheters, monitor vitals, and assist with anesthesia and fluids under supervision. A rotating on-call schedule follows training.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule after training.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients per hospital standards.
• Place peripheral IV catheter and monitor patient status.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital parameters.
• Set up and administer intravenous fluids, including fluids via pumps.
• Monitor patient response and alert doctor to abnormalities.
