Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Stone Oak, TX is seeking a skilled Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team. The role delivers nursing care to stable patients and supports postoperative client communication, with training provided.

Applicants should have at least two years of experience in a veterinary hospital and be capable of working independently within a collaborative team. A rotating on-call schedule is required after training.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule after training.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards.
• Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs and pain status.
• Alert doctor to abnormal findings and monitor patient closely.
• Set up and administer intravenous fluids; monitor response.
• Administer subcutaneous fluids and operate IV fluid pumps.
• Maintain aseptic technique when connecting/disconnecting fluids.
