East & West Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Customer Service Representative to welcome clients, triage questions, and manage appointments with empathy and professionalism.

You will support a fast-paced hospital lobby, handle calls and payments, and contribute to high-quality client care. The role requires strong communication, organization, and a willingness to learn in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of veterinary receptionist experience.
• Some prior veterinary assistant experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Avimark is a plus but not required.
• Some Saturday coverage is required.
• Compassionate, calm team player with a positive attitude.
• Exceptional multitasking abilities and strong communication skills.
• Highly organized with excellent computer proficiency.
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to handle emotionally charged situations professionally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, triage questions, answer calls or emails and direct to the right party.
• Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow; check in/out and process payments.
• Provide friendly emotional support and maintain a compassionate, discreet presence.
• Maintain the reception area’s visual appeal and support a clean, organized lobby.
• Adapt to various medical outcomes and manage multiple priorities calmly.

Hours of operation

• Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Closed on Sundays

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greet and welcome clients and patients, answer questions and triage client concerns, answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution, schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow, check in and check out clients and process payments. Our receptionists offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1+ years of veterinary receptionist experience.
• Some previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience utilizing Avimark is a plus, but not required.
• Coverage of some Saturday shifts are required for this position.
• Compassionate, calm team player with a positive attitude.
• Exceptional multitasking abilities and strong communication skills.
• Highly organized with excellent computer proficiency.
• Self‑motivated, with a desire to continuously learn and grow in your role.
• Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with professionalism and resilience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in difficult or emotional circumstances.
• Comfortable working in a veterinary environment—must not be squeamish.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Pay Range

$19 - $22/hr. depending on level of experience.
