Veterinary Medical Center of Woodland Hills in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking an experienced, compassionate Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, collaborative hospital. Pay ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, with open availability including Saturdays.

You will support veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and patient care, handle restraints, draw blood, prepare radiographs, and monitor anesthesia under supervision.

Qualifications

• 2+ years veterinary assistant experience.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic.
• Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement preferred.
• Able to communicate with clients professionally.

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and restraining patients.
• Rooming patients and assisting with appointments.
• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Placing IV catheters and performing venipuncture.
• Running in-house laboratory testing using IDEXX.
• Obtaining diagnostic radiographs and ensuring proper patient positioning.
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
• Monitoring anesthesia under the veterinary team.
• Providing compassionate client education and cross-training as needed.
• Maintaining knowledge of commonly used medications and restocking supplies.
