Job summary

Woodland Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across hospital care.

This full-time role offers a 5/8 schedule with weekend availability, competitive hourly pay between $22 and $28, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more. You will assist with patient care, exams, anesthesia, and client communication.

Qualifications

• 1+ years veterinary assistant experience required.
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint for dogs/cats of varying sizes.
• Experience collecting history, weights, and vitals.
• Venipuncture, IV catheters, injections.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Team player with dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, collect histories, assist with triage.
• Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Collect samples, administer vaccines, and perform treatments as directed.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare and fill prescriptions and review medications with clients.
• Provide clear, compassionate client communication.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and support daily operations.
