Veterinary Medical Center of Woodland Hills in Woodland Hills, CA is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Veterinary Assistant. You will support veterinarians, technicians, and clients in a fast-paced hospital, performing tasks from patient restraint to basic procedures and client education.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of veterinary experience, proficiency with IDEXX in-house labs, radiography, and venipuncture, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Experience with animal handling and restraint.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement preferred.
• Familiarity with IDEXX and in-house lab equipment.
• Experience obtaining radiographs and positioning patients.
• Experience assisting with surgery and anesthesia monitoring.
• Knowledge of commonly used veterinary medications.
• Strong client communication.
• Availability to work Saturdays.

Aufgaben

• Safely handling and restraining patients.
• Rooming patients and assisting with appointments.
• Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with exams and procedures.
• Placing IV catheters and performing venipuncture.
• Running in-house IDEXX testing.
• Obtaining radiographs and proper positioning.
• Preparing patients for surgery and recovery.
• Monitoring anesthesia under supervision.
• Educating clients on at-home care.
