Job summary

Baldwin Animal Clinic is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians in a fast-paced animal hospital. The role involves restraining animals during exams, stocking rooms, sterilizing tools, and ensuring equipment is functional.

You will perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, medications, and lab work, while educating clients.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• In-person attendance is essential to support patient care.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technicians are preferred, but non-credentialed applicants may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in patient care and examinations.
• Restrain animals during examinations when necessary.
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies; prepare tools and equipment.
• Sterilize tools and ensure equipment is in working order.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration and monitoring; dental prophy; radiography; administer medications; assist with labs and client education.
• Communicate with clients and update patient files.

Description

Our hospital is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. The Assistant helps during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Assistant skills will include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, performing laboratory analysis, and client education. Veterinary Assistant's also communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.
