Job summary

Baldwin Animal Clinic seeks a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians in a busy, multi-doctor hospital. You will assist during examinations, restrain animals when needed, stock rooms, sterilize tools, and help with procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiography, and basic labs.

You will communicate with clients, update patient records, and work with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

Experience in customer service within a clinical setting.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and assist in handling animals.

Responsibilities

Assist Veterinarians in examinations and care.
Restrain animals when necessary and stock exam/surgery rooms.
Sterilize tools and ensure equipment is functional.
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiography and lab tests as trained.
Educate clients and update patient files.

Description

Our hospital is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. The Assistant helps during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Assistant skills will include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, performing laboratory analysis, and client education. Veterinary Assistant's also communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.
