Department: Veterinary Assistants

Description

Our focus is on being a place of comfort for our clients and pets, in sickness and in health. You will have opportunities for growth, including becoming a veterinary technician, specializing in medicine, or moving into management roles.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Caring for our boarding animals
• Cleaning, laundry, and basic clinic upkeep
• Patient handling and restraint
• Medication administration and filling prescriptions
• Assisting our technicians and veterinarians as needed
• Tackling projects with a positive attitude

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• High school diploma or GED required
• Preferred at least 1 year of veterinary experience
• Effective communication skills to interact with clients, staff, and veterinarians
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infectious or contagious diseases
