Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:- Safely and effectively handle and restrain patients, ensuring both animal and staff safety
- Accurately administer medications via IV, subcutaneous, and oral routes
- Prepare and fill prescriptions in accordance with veterinary directives
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow team members to provide high-quality patient care
- Perform venipuncture and assist with intravenous drug administration
- Assist in acquiring and positioning patients for diagnostic radiographic procedures
- Conduct and process diagnostic testing, including blood, urine, and fecal analyses
- Support patient admissions and discharges, including client communication and care instructions
Skills Knowledge and Expertise- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in veterinary medicine, preferably in emergency or critical care settings
- Strong proficiency in patient triage and the ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor-capable of interacting effectively with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and fellow staff (bonus points if you also talk to animals!)
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and moving freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to safely lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious or contagious diseases
