Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Part-Time Veteran Care Technician at the Owens Campus to support veterans in their housing and health services. You will work with VA personnel, assist with intake, data entry in HMIS, and coordinate services to meet residents’ needs.

Strong communication and a valid Nevada driver’s license are required. This role focuses on crisis intervention, employment readiness, and ensuring program compliance, with confidentiality and grant-based funding

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Human Service discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience with homeless or at-risk veterans preferred.
• Experience in case management or individual counseling.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid Nevada driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Veteran status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with all facility rules.
• Provide support services to all veteran residents.
• Assist with intake and discharge processes and client orientation.
• Complete accurate data entry into the HMIS system.
• Coordinate care with VA personnel and others for documentation and health services.
• Maintain, record, and report progression of veterans through the program.
• Oversee medication management.
• Assist veterans with employment readiness services.
• Perform interventions and crisis-oriented services.
• Attend all scheduled team meetings and trainings.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
