Job summary

Cox Automotive in Bordentown, NJ is hiring for a Vehicle Information Clerk to enter data and manage check-in tasks at the auction site.

Responsibilities include AS400 data entry, taking vehicle photos, labeling, directing transporters, and upholding Safety Excellence on sale days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, or <2 years' related experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with manual and automatic transmission.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Regularly stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; lift 1–15 pounds.
• Vision: color depth and distance perception.

Responsibilities

• Input vehicle data into AS400 using handheld PT with VIN, stock number, dealer ID, make, model, year, mileage, color and options.
• Affix barcode/stock stickers on each received vehicle.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels; flag 'no key' cars.
• Direct transporters to drop zones; report any damage.
• Take digital images of vehicles on receipt.
• Provide sale windshield codes to drivers at check-in.
• Follow safety procedures and support Safety Excellence.
• Assist on sale days driving vehicles through auction lanes.

Job description

Pay Rate:

$17.35/hr.

Work Shifts Available:

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3pm-10pm
• Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 3pm-10pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Input accurate vehicle information into the AS400 computer using a handheld computer (Portable Terminal - PT) or provide information via headset to co-worker for data entry for each vehicle received at the Auction including:
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  • Stock number.
  • Dealer identification number.
  • Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
  • Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry. Flag "no key" cars.
• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone. Report transport damage as needed.
• Take digital image of vehicle upon receipt.
• Provide proper sale identification windshield code to the person who is driving vehicle through the registration/check-in area.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes, etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred, OR less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred:

• 1-3 years of auction and/or vehicle registration experience preferred.

Work Environment:

• Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
