Job summary

The City of St. Charles, MO is seeking a seasonal Passenger Van Driver for the St. Charles City Transit within the Public Works Street Division.

This part-time, non-exempt position provides safe, courteous transportation for residents on demand, operating a passenger van and assisting passengers with boarding and exiting. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, ADA assistance, maintaining passenger manifests and mileage logs, and clear communication with dispatch while upholding all

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Missouri Class E driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous passenger/public driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a passenger van to transport residents to scheduled destinations.
• Provide door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation as required.
• Assist passengers entering/exiting, including wheelchair lifts and ramps.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain logs.
• Follow traffic laws, safety policies, and communicate with dispatch.
• Offer courteous assistance to the public and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
