Job summary

Brillante Academy is seeking a Part-Time Van Driver to safely transport students to and from school on the McAllen route. The role includes attendance, student relations, and assisting with arrival and dismissal, with additional tasks as needed.

Bilingual English/Spanish required; a valid driver’s license with a clean record is essential. Schedule roughly 6:00–8:00 AM and 3:15–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience working in a school and/or with elementary aged students preferred.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work bus schedule (approx. Mon–Fri 6:00–8:00 AM and 3:15–5:30 PM).

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school via the McAllen Van Route.
• Take daily bus attendance.
• Build meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Communicate behavior challenges to manager/school leader.
• Support arrival and dismissal processes.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

About Brillante Academy

Brillante Academy Public Charter School opened its doors in August 2023. In our fourth year, we will have Pre-K3 through 4th grade and will serve over 530 students from the Rio Grande Valley in the Mission area and surrounding communities in its first year. We will continue to grow one grade-level a year until 8th grade. Over the next decade, we plan to expand our network across the state of Texas to serve over 7,000 students. Position Overview

The Part-Time Van Driver is a vital member of the Operations Team, which is responsible for designing and implementing efficient day-to-day systems and routines that contribute to a joyful school culture and the highest-levels of learning, instruction and organizational stewardship. The primary responsibility of the Part-Time Van Driver is to safely transport our students to and from school. This is a part-time position with opportunity for growth with the school and additional hours as needed. Tasks of the Part-Time Van Driver include but are not limited to:

• Safely transporting students to and from school via the Mcallen Van Route
• Taking daily bus attendance
• Building meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents
• Communicating behavior challenges to manager/school leader
• Supporting arrival and dismissal processes
• Performing other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
