Job summary

UrgentVet Hospitals in New Port Richey, FL is seeking a Part-Time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our after-hours focused clinic. This single-doctor shifts setup handles common urgent cases with no wellness services, supported by a modern, cloud EMR and IDEXX equipment.

You will work with a strong technical team, provide high-quality, compassionate care, and grow relationships within the Tampa community while maintaining flexible swing/second shift hours.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA-accredited college.
• Active license to practice in the employment state or ability to obtain it.
• Urgent care experience preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the practice and the Tampa community.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during open hours.

Education

DVM/VMD degree from AVMA accredited college

Active veterinary license in good standing

Description

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the New Port Richey, FL area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during our open hours

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
