Job summary

American Veterinary Group in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Part-Time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join UrgentVet Hospitals. This role provides after-hours urgent care for dogs and cats, with emphasis on wound management, infections, vomiting, diarrhea, and palliative care.

Shifts are part-time and focus on urgent care, not wellness visits. You will work with a strong technical team, enjoy a flexible schedule, and participate in an environment designed for efficient care with cloud EMR, digital x-ray,

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college.
• Active license in good standing to practice in the employing state.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the Sarasota community.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during open hours.

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Sarasota, FL area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
