Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in San Antonio, TX seeks a part-time Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine physician to join our fast-paced team. The role requires a minimum of 4 shifts per month with rotating weekdays and weekends, and includes formal supervising responsibilities for assigned APPs within a structured model.

Qualifications

• Active Texas medical license for MD or DO.
• Board certified in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
• Active DEA license, or ability to obtain.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• Active BLS certification.
• Comfort working a minimum of 4 shifts per month.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs, x-rays, and EKGs.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage, as applicable.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.
