Job summary

NextCare in College Station, Texas, is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an urgent care role. This position offers 4 twelve-hour shifts per month with clinic hours 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, seven days a week, in a supportive team-based setting.

You will evaluate and treat patients of all ages, order studies, perform procedures, and maintain EHR documentation while enjoying flexible scheduling and strong clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Nurse Practitioner: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification through ANCC or AANP.
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to evaluate and treat patients of all ages.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR).
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (certification fees covered).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including laboratory testing and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound management, splinting, and other procedures as appropriate.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards, protocols, and core values.
