Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Part Time Universal Banker I in Paramus, NJ. You will provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, including transactional and non-transactional processes, while assisting in branch goals.

Responsibilities include processing transactions, opening accounts, discussing financial needs, cross-selling products, and supporting daily branch operations. Training is provided, and benefits include PTO, sick time, ESOP, and 401k options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of financial products preferred.
• Interpersonal, time management, organizational and PC skills a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Candidates must attend mandatory training, continued employment is contingent upon passing training classes.

Responsibilities

• Processes all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other payments through online terminals.
• Opens new deposit and checking accounts and explains products to customers; handles deceased accounts and documentation.
• Discusses personal financial needs with customers and makes product recommendations; cross-sells services.
• Prepares daily proofs and assists with end-of-day closing procedures and branch reconciliation.
• Maintains accurate customer records and filing; updates safe deposit box records and branch files.
• Makes referrals to Wealth Management and Mortgage Origination as appropriate.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
