Job summary

Columbia Bank New Jersey is seeking a Part Time Universal Banker to provide a full range of banking services to retail customers, including transactional and non-transactional processes. The role supports personal banking needs while helping customers achieve their financial goals.

The position is 25 hours per week with specific daily hours and weekend coverage as required. Training is provided, and benefits include PTO, sick time, ESOP, and 401k participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred
• 1-2 years of retail or customer service experience required
• Knowledge of financial products preferred
• Interpersonal, time management, organizational and PC skills a must
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Ability to work weekends as needed or scheduled
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
• Candidates must attend mandatory training, continued employment contingent upon passing training classes

Responsibilities

• Process all banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and checks using online terminals
• Open new deposit and checking accounts and explain products to customers
• Cross-sell Bank’s products and services and refer to other departments
• Maintain accurate customer and account records and handle documentation
• Provide assistance with safe deposit boxes and respond to inquiries
• Support end-of-day procedures and branch closing tasks
• Deliver a seamless customer experience through online banking explanations and follow-up
