Job summary

Allied Universal® in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol a commercial real estate location and protect clients. You will carry out routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, monitor alarm panels, and report security-related concerns.

You will deliver outstanding customer service to tenants, visitors, and site personnel, respond calmly to incidents, and prepare accurate patrol and incident reports.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors at a commercial real estate location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building common areas, parking facilities, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, vendor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting observations.
• Prepare accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
