Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) in Norfolk, VA. The role involves patrolling financial institutions, providing customer service, and maintaining a secure environment. A flexible daytime schedule is offered with a fixed pay rate of $19.64 per hour.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrances, responding to incidents, and documenting activities. Minimum requirements include 1+ year of security experience, basic tech comfort, and background checks as required

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Hold CPR certification, preferred.
• Hold CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.
• Hold a Guard Card/License, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout financial-services facilities, including interior areas, entry points, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site policies, and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
