Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Charlottesville, VA. You will provide customer service, monitor the site, and deter security incidents while using available computer/tablet systems.

Flexible day/evening shifts and a focus on safety and service are key parts of the role. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior customer service and access control experience, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen as required by law.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating information according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding observed conditions, policy violations, and security-related incidents.
