Job summary

Allied Universal in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking a part-time Security Officer Unarmed to safeguard clients in government facilities and other sites. You will monitor access, respond to incidents, and perform routine patrols to maintain a safe environment.

This role offers a flexible part-time schedule with day and evening shifts; you will use post orders and work as part of a collaborative team. A valid guard card or license is preferred; candidates must be 18+ for unarmed posts and pass

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public following site procedures.
• Monitor and control access to government facility entrances; verify credentials and issue visitor badges.
• Screen individuals and belongings per site procedures; report prohibited items and access attempts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeter; document observations and report issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to government facility entrances, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
• Screen individuals and/or belongings in accordance with site procedures, report prohibited items or unauthorized access attempts, and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the facility perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance, access‑control, or security‑related concerns.
