Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Security Officer (Unarmed) in Norfolk, VA. You will provide customer service, perform patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

This role features a flexible schedule, on-site work at aerospace/defense locations, and opportunities for training and growth. CPR/First Aid and licensing are preferred, with background checks and drug screening as required by law.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, vehicles, and deliveries in accordance with site policies.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
