Job summary

Allied Universal in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Armed Patrol Deterrence to protect clients across Aerospace/Defense locations. You will monitor facilities, deter security incidents, and provide professional service while upholding Allied Universal’s culture of teamwork and integrity.

This role offers a flexible part-time schedule (Fri–Sun 6:00 AM–2:00 PM) and requires an armed guard card, minimum age 21, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, access points, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and assist with visitor and contractor entry processes.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, inspections, and other security-related observations.
