Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol and safeguard client sites in Reston, VA. This driver-enabled role blends security oversight with driving duties to support access control and daily operations.

You will perform regular patrols, respond to incidents, and maintain documentation while providing excellent customer service to employees and visitors. The position offers flexible day schedules and opportunities to earn shifts through our platform.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening are required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor and report security-related conditions, suspicious activity, access control concerns, and facility hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs in accordance with site requirements.
