Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol and safeguard at a utilities location in Fairfax, VA. You will perform routine vehicle patrols, monitor access, and provide excellent customer service while upholding company values.

The role requires a valid driver's license, 18+ years of age (21+ for armed roles), and a high school diploma. Schedule includes daytime and overnight shifts with a starting pay rate of $18.22 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a utility operations location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and facility concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Report hazards, maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and other security-related observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
