Job summary

E-Therapy is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students across Kane and Will Counties, Illinois, onsite for the 26/27 school year. The role offers full-time hours (7 per day) with a starting rate of $45/hour, commensurate with experience.

The TVI will assess student needs, develop IEP goals, provide braille literacy instruction, and collaborate with classroom staff to adapt curriculum. Cross-license support is available to expand qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or Special Education with a focus on visual impairments.
• Current state licensure or certification as TVI.
• Proficiency in braille literacy and braille code knowledge.
• Experience with PreK-12 students in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' needs and develop IEP goals.
• Provide braille literacy and adaptive technology instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers and service providers to adapt curriculum.
• Teach compensatory skills to enhance independence.
• Utilize assistive technology to support curriculum access.
