Job summary

Spanish Fork City’s Parks and Recreation department seeks a Tumbling Instructor to plan, teach, and assist children aged 2-5 in age-appropriate tumbling and movement classes. The role focuses on fostering physical activity, balance, confidence, and social development in a safe, engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience with young children or tumbling-related activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent; previous experience with 2-5 year-olds preferred.
  • Ability to create fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for young children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with staff, parents/guardians and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach age-appropriate tumbling and movement classes for children 2-5.
  • Introduce basic tumbling skills: balance, roll, jump, stretch and body awareness.
  • Use games, music and movement to maintain engagement and encourage participation.
  • Provide clear instructions and positive encouragement to build confidence.
  • Adapt activities to different developmental stages and abilities.
  • Demonstrate safe movement techniques and proper use of mats and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized class environment before, during and after sessions.
  • Supervise children and ensure safety throughout all activities.
  • Report damaged equipment and maintain inventory as needed.
  • Interact politely with participants, staff, volunteers and patrons.
