Job summary

Global Experience Specialists, Inc. seeks a CDL truck driver to deliver and pick up equipment for shows. You will assist with loading/unloading, carpet/furniture tasks, and show freight handling, while performing routine equipment inspections and maintenance. Travel up to 20% is required and union membership is expected.

Must have a Class A CDL, pass background checks, and be able to work nights and weekends in a fast-paced tradeshow environment. ELD reporting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL driver's license.
  • Maintain a good driving record.
  • 3 years driving experience.
  • Tradeshow industry experience a plus, but not required.
  • Must join the Carpenter's Union.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to interface with internal staff, vendors, clients, and facility security.
  • Must work on loading docks, tradeshow floor, and warehouse in noisy/crowded areas.
  • Team and independent work ability.
  • Work nights/weekends.
  • ELD/app-based reporting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Drives (class A CDL rated) trucks in the delivery and pick-up of equipment and materials for assigned shows.
  • Assists in the loading and unloading of showsite equipment and materials.
  • Assists in the carpet and/or furniture departments, as needed.
  • Assists in the receiving and delivery of show freight, as needed.
  • Miscellaneous equipment inspections and maintenance, as needed.
  • Relies on personal knowledge and experience in operation of trucks and in the completing of job functions.
  • Must be available for travel and overnight stays as required (up to 20%).
  • Must be available to work variable shifts, nights, weekends and extended hours if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED preferred
  • Valid Class A CDL driver's license

  • Previous experience with ELD and app-based reporting a plus, but not required

Compensation: $34/hr. The pay range and actual offers are based on a variety of individualized factors including skills, qualifications, experience, location and role specific competencies.
