Job summary

Oregon State University (OSU) is seeking part-time Peer Tutors for the TRIO Student Support Services program. Tutors work with SSS students individually or in small groups, helping with course material and study strategies to foster independent problem solving.

In addition to tutoring, trainees participate in ongoing professional development and coordinate meetings with students, maintaining documentation and supporting at-risk students to succeed academically.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy helping others succeed in college.
• Experience interacting with people from diverse backgrounds is required.
• Must have completed relevant courses with a B or higher or be currently enrolled in them.
• Ability to schedule tutoring sessions directly with students and manage own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Coordinate meetings with students and maintain documentation.
• Conduct group and individual meetings with supervisor.
• Assist at quarterly study sessions.
• Demonstrate transferable skills development through tutoring.
