Job summary

The Trial Team Manager is a part-time role within South Texas College of Law Houston's Advocacy Program. The position mentors competition teams and helps recruit and develop alumni trial team coaches. It also supports orientations and judge recruitment for regional events.

Ideal candidates will have a J.D. degree and experience as a coach in ST Advocacy, with strong organizational and communication skills to advance the program's mission. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be professional and confidential of all department data and correspondence.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students, alumni, clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Guide competition teams preparing for national trial tournaments through fact pattern analysis and work product development.
• Mentor coaches working with trial advocacy teams.
• Recruit trial team alumni coaches in collaboration with advocacy leadership.
• Coordinate orientations each semester for students and coaches.
• Assist with judge recruitment for regional competitions and mock trial events.
• Represent the college to the national advocacy community.
• Collaborate with advocacy leadership on ongoing program improvements.
• Follow the customer service standards and support the mission of the Advocacy Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
