NCDPI and NC public school translator positions involve converting written or spoken language (often Spanish) for educational settings, ensuring effective communication between staff, students, and parents. Responsibilities include translating IEP documents, school forms, and providing interpretation for meetings to ensure compliance and access.
The School Based Interpreter-Translator is responsible for assisting school personnel, parents and students to communicate academic, family, social, and cultural needs through language support. The employee is also responsible for both oral interpretations and written translations for all school-based language support.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent, at least 20 years old, viable transportation.
Work is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force. Substantial amount of time spent standing and/or walking.
Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments, and come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public.
