Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time School Test Administrators to administer TIMSS assessments in schools across the United States. The role involves in-person computer-based testing, coordinating with schools, and handling materials and data respectfully and confidentially.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English fluency, and the ability to travel locally. Training and equipment are provided; compensation is hourly at $21 with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• One-year experience directly or indirectly related to field interviewing, data collection, teaching and/or working with children in schools.
• Comfortable working in a school setting and in all types of neighborhoods.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Able to successfully complete training.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop, and other equipment such as Chromebooks and internet routers.
• Competent with internet and computer applications.
• Access to password protected WiFI connection for data transmission and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to travel, overnight as required.

Responsibilities

• Administering computer-based assessments to students in-person in schools.
• Contacting schools to discuss the study, answer questions, confirm participation and review/setup assessment logistics.
• Reading text verbatim from paper documents and the computer.
• Promptly transmitting data after student sessions.
• Traveling to local or regional assigned school sites; overnight travel may be required.
