Job summary

St. Charles Community College is seeking a Part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach to support the Head Coach in developing both men's and women's programs with emphasis on throwing events.

Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting support, and academic monitoring while adhering to NJCAA and SCC policies. The role requires strong communication, supervisory abilities, and a commitment to student-athlete success.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous coaching and/or competitive experience in throwing events preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
• Commitment to fostering academic, athletic, and personal success for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop student-athletes in throwing events (shot put, discus, hammer, javelin).
• Plan and conduct daily practices and event-specific training.
• Attend and coach at practices, competitions, and postseason events.
• Assist in implementing strength and conditioning programs for throwers.
• Evaluate athlete performance and provide feedback.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
